      The four poems that make up T. S. Eliot’s Four Quartets were published separately during a six-year period, from to Burnt Norton, ; East Coker, ; The Dry Salvages, , and Little Gidding in The poems first appeared as a single volume in   There’s a famous photograph of a Nazi book burning.     T.S. Eliot is standard required material in almost any college; certainly it should be on the reading list of every person who has aspirations of being a writer. At Sewanee there was probably a copy of this book in just about every student’s collection. I still marvel at the art Eliot s:   Her parents were both “superb entertainers” and their house was always full of literati, including Robert Frost, W. H. Auden, Dylan Thomas, T. S. Eliot and Allen Ginsberg.

    Four Quartets is a collection of four poems by T.S. Eliot. The four pieces were originally published between and , during a period of time in which Eliot’s life was disrupted by the events of World War II. They were then collected into a single volume in "A Song for Simeon" is a line poem written in by American-English poet T. S. Eliot (–). It is one of five poems that Eliot contributed to the Ariel poems series of 38 pamphlets by several authors published by Faber and Gwyer. "A Song for Simeon" was the sixteenth in the series and included an illustration by avant garde artist Edward McKnight Kauffer.
